Our street!

After everyone on our street cleaned up their yards from Ike, our street was a mess!

After 2 whole weeks, we got our power back and moved home from Owen's house!

Wild Animals!

I went to the Houston Zoo today! It was FUN! Momma and I went with Owen and Laura and Hutson and Callie! Hutson and Callie came in to visit from Austin and it was so great to see them!

Swimming, swimming, in a swimming pool...

I went swimming for the first time!! Our friends Tonya, Ryan and Emma have a really cool pool at their apartment, so we went for a swim and had a picnic on Friday! It was great fun. The water was very cool, but I liked it ok. I think I'll like it even better once the water is warmer! I got to wear my new tankini swim suit!

Helping at the house

We have had workers at our house every day, trying to fix Ike's mess. While they were there one day, Momma and I stayed at the house for a while. It was very nice outside (very strange for Houston) so we played on the front porch.

A storm named Ike

Logan, Daddy, Auntie Laura, Owen and I on our front porch, after the storm. It was hot, so Owen and I were just wearing diapers and Laura and Momma were in nursing tanktops and pajama pants! Not our finest moments!

Here is the bottom part of the tree that hit our house! Yes, those are the roots coming up out of the ground and through the fence.

That big tree came across our driveway and onto Momma's closet. It missed Daddy's truck by millimeters! Phew!

Bam! Here it is on the house! Do you see that window edge on the porch? That is where Momma, Daddy, Logan, Lucy, and I were all "sleeping". We were all in bed together! That tree made a very loud noise and it was scary!

The good news is that the tree is gone now and the hole in our roof is already fixed! Now we are working on fixing all of the damage to the closets and bathroom. It will take a while!

We still don't have electricity in the house, so we are staying at Auntie Laura and Uncle Nick's house for now. We've had a lot of fun and had lots of friends come over. We have electricity so lots of friends have come over to share meals with us.

I don't like that guy, Ike. He was a bad bad storm.

Hurricane!!

As you may have heard, a hurricane named Ike came to Houston! Our friends Laura, Nick, and Owen, and their two cats, came to our house for the night. We intended to have a big hurricane party but it was really kinda scary so the party wasn't as festive as other parties we like to have. Did you know that rain can fall in every direction, like down from the sky and also sideways at the same time? The world was vary blurry and greyish green for a while. We lost power at our house at around 2:15 in the morning. I was asleep but Momma and Daddy told me about it. Then around 4am, a tree fell on our house! Woah. Now that was really scary! It made a big loud noise and the whole house shook like it was going to fly away! At that point, all five of us were in momma and daddy's bed (momma, daddy, me, logan, and lucy). It was crowded! The tree fell in the back of our house, onto momma's closet and the master bathroom. A bunch of water came into the house! Once we all got out of bed later, we had to figure out what was really happening in the world. I got to hang out in just a diaper, which I generally don't do, but it was kinda hot outside! It turned out that Laura, Nick, and Owen's house never even lost power, so we all moved over there and we are living there, now. It is kind of like Noah's Ark: two mommas, two daddies, two babies, two cats, and two dogs! Today we got the tree off of the house and the roof fixed, so now all we need is power! And a new bathroom, of course!

We took lots of pictures and I'll put them in as soon as I can. Right now I want to eat!

Playtime

One of my favorite things is my play-gym. There are fun toys hanging from the top, and a mirror on the side! I like to smile at the baby in the mirror!

3 months old today!!!

Guess who turned three months old today?? Me!! That's right! I am a very happy baby, and recently discovered that I can suck on my hands and fingers! I am also sleeping on my own room now! I used to sleep in a cradle next to Momma and Daddy's bed, but now that I am such a big girl, I get to sleep in my own room! I love my crib. It has a wonderful birdie mobile over it, which I love to watch. I recently noticed that I have a fun A-B-C quilt and bumper pad and I like to look at them, too!

Are you wondering just how big I am?
Well, Momma weighed me today and I weigh 12 lbs!
And I am approximately 23 1/4 inches long (that is a hard measurement to take).

When I was 2 months old, the doctor said I was 10 lbs, 13 oz, and 22 1/2 inches long.

Music

Momma and I went to church for a music class! Our friend Jeannie taught us lots of songs and it was fun. My friends Owen ans Liam were there too,with their mommies, Laura and Jenni.

A Party!

On Saturday, we went to a party for our friends Callie, Mike, and Hutson. They are moving to Austin, and we are all going to miss them! Hutson already asked me to his prom! Fortunately, Austin is very close, so we will be able to visit! A lot of my baby friends were at the party, so I had a lot of fun!

Here we are! Hutson (19 mo) is on the left (looking at me!), and then clockwise there is Sterling (2 1/2 mo), me, Owen (7 mo), and Liam (7 mo). My friend Elliot came to the party too, but he got there after this picture.

We are giong to miss them! You may recall that Callie is our fabulous photographer (see my newborn and Momma's pregnancy shots below) but we will just have to visit Austin more often now!

A trip to Maine

Momma and Daddy took me on a vacation! We went to an island in Maine, which is VERY far away. It took us two plane rides, a car ride, and then a boat ride to get there!

When Momma first told me about all the travel, I wasn't so sure I'd like it.

Here I am on our first airplane, which took us from Houston to Newark. It was a long ride!

Once in Newark, we had a break before we had to get on the next airplane, which took us to Portland, Maine.








I was tired!



The island is owned by the family of Daddy's roommate in college, Brooke, and Daddy and Momma try to go there every summer to see everyone. I got to meet Brooke and Amy's baby, Hazel! She is my new friend. She is bigger than me, and has recently learned to crawl!





I am helping Daddy play a game called Yahtzee!






Daddy, Brooke, Jake, and Kent picked apart crabs to make crab sandwiches and crab cakes. It was a lot of work but it was worth it. They said Daddy was the "master picker"!! Kent is Brooke's daddy, and Jake is Brooke's brother.
