Playtime!

R - I love playtime!  Did you know that Elyse and I have a playroom in our new house?  We do, and it is fantastic.  It is filled with all sorts of things (most of which are Elyse's right now, but some of it is mine, too).  Soon, we will really have to organize that room, as Momma does not want me to play with some of the things that Elyse can have.  She is a big girl, thus she has scissors and glue and tiny beads and little things that I am not big enough to play with yet.  However, I have some great toys in there, too!

Do you see that big blue ball by the mirror in this first picture?  One game I like to play is "roll the ball".  Momma and I roll the ball back and forth to each other and it is fun!  I laugh and laugh.

Wormie is great fun to chew on (as are most things)!

He also makes a great jingly sound when you shake him!

Like many of my toys, wormie first belonged to Elyse.  He was one of her very favorite toys.  She also really liked the little ball that is sitting by her, which I love as well.  It makes a great sound when you shake it and it fits perfectly in my little hands.  That sister of mine... she is one smart cookie!

This is my friend, Ann.  We both like stripes.

How fun to play with a friend!

However, my favorite person to play with is Elyse.  She is great fun!  She can always make me smile.

I am so lucky to have such a great big sister!

I am 9 months old!

R - Can you believe it?  Here I am, a big 9 month old boy!  How big, you ask?  Well, I am 28 1/4 inches tall, and 17 lbs!  If you are thinking of comparing me with other kids, then you might say I am actually sort of small.  My momma makes skinny kids!  In fact, I weigh exactly the same as Elyse weighed when she was 9 months old, but I am 2 1/4 inches taller!  But don't you worry, I am a super healthy boy!

So here is what I have been up to lately:

Momma tried to get me to sit with this silly sign again, but I thought it was more fun to crumple the paper up and wave it around.  Did you actually want to see it??  Sorry.

I am a happy boy!

I got this cool toy from Santa this year.  It plays all sorts of music, which I like to dance to.  And there is this blue laptop computer with buttons inside - I like to open up the screen and then BANG it down!

Hi there, ducky.

I think you should go in my mouth.  Note:  everything goes in my mouth these days.  I grew 4 new teeth in the past month!  Ouch!  I like to chew on EVERYTHING, especially Momma.  I particularly like her collarbones.  I also like to give her big open mouthed kisses that end with a little nibble.  Then I laugh, because I think that is pretty funny!

Are you listening?  I have lots to say!

I also like to help Momma fold the laundry.  Believe it or not, this basket was actually already folded before I pulled it over to me.  But I thought I'd help fold them in a different manner...

Do you recognize this sweater?  It used to be Elyse's, but now it is mine!  In case you can't tell, Elyse is in the photo on the left, I am on the right!  We sure do look alike!

Deep thoughts while chewing on my Winkel toy.

All right, keys, you are next!

Got ya!  Two hands for two toys!  I can alternate chewing on them!

My new years resolution was to eat more solid food.  I started with Cheerios.  It turns out that I actually like food as long as it is NOT pureed.  Food is not meant to be pureed.  You'll see more posts on food later...  Stay tuned!

Oh, yes, it's Ladies Night!

E - Did you know that my entire family was here for Christmas?  Yep, G-G, Poppy, Auntie and Grandma all came to Houston and we celebrated together. It was WONDERFUL.  I mean, we had such a wonderful time.  We actually had such a great time that we forgot to take pictures of practically everything!  The one thing we DID get photos of though, was our outing to see the Nutcracker ballet.  The boys all stayed home, and the girls got fancied up and went to the ballet!

Man, oh man, it was MAGNIFICENT.  I was just open-mouthed agog the entire time.  As you can see, I wore my beautiful flower girl dress.  I feel it is important to dress nicely to go to the ballet.  Don't you?  I danced in the halls during intermission and people told me I should have been onstage.  Just you wait, I will be, some day.

I love the Nutcracker.  It was just amazing.  What a fun day out with the ladies!
