Me: "I have blond hair."
Momma: "Yes, you sure do!"
Me: "And Momma has red hair."
Daddy: "Yes, she does. What color is Daddy's hair?
Me: "Grey."
This didn't make Daddy very happy.
The other day we drove downtown and passed the Federal Courthouse.
Momma: "I used to go to that building a lot when I worked, before you were born."
Me: "It looks like a bathroom."
Momma cracked up laughing.
Momma: "Well, you know, that is true. It is like a bathroom in many ways!"
While I was playing in my room with Charlie:
Me: Baby Jesus, you may not bite!
Momma peeked her head into my room. "What??"
Me: "I am Mary and Charlie is Baby Jesus and he is biting."
Momma: "Hmmm. Ok."
Charlie is often Baby Jesus in our house. Now that we have gone to the livestock show, he is sometimes a baby cow, too. He doesn't mind.
When driving down Allen Parkway on a clear sunny day:
Me: "This is the road we take to the doctor."
Momma: "It is?"
Me: "Yeah, it is how we go to Logan's doctor."
Momma: "You know, you are right! This is one of the ways we go to the vet. We go to the same doctor for Charlie and for Lucy!"
Me: "A long time ago, when I was really little, Logan was really big, and he went to the doctor a lot."
Momma got teary eyed.
This actually happens a lot because every time we have clouds in the sky, I look up and ask Momma which cloud she thinks Logan might be in that day. If it is a rainy day, we discuss where he might have gone, because he did not like rain. But on pretty puffy cloudy days, I like to look around and find the biggest puffiest cloud and that is the cloud I think Logan is in, watching us from Heaven.
