Christmas Elves

Momma and Daddy told me about their honeymoon in Tahiti, so I made up a Christmas dance routine about it!  What do you think?

And since we live in Texas, here's a big "Merry Christmas, Y'll" to everyone!

Happy Holidays!

Artists at work

Wednesday, after school, Owen came over to paint with me!  We are artists.  We painted on both sides of my easel.

That made it easy for me to see what Owen was painting.  Look at that!  He is painting the alphabet!

Sometimes I have to sit back and get a good look at my artwork...

That way I can see what needs more special touches!

I love to fingerpaint!  Can't you just see the creativity flowing??

Owen likes to fingerpaint too.  That is why we are such good friends.  We enjoy doing things together!

Once our creative process ebbed, we made a snack in my little kitchen and sat down for a break.

What a fun afternoon!

A chilly day at the park

We have finally gotten some cooler weather here, so last weekend we bundled up and went to the park!

I wore my cupcake hat.  Now you see me....

 AND...

Now you don't!

As you can see, I tested out all of the swings at the park.  First the big girl swing (top photo), then the baby swing (my favorite) and then this big swing!  I am a swing expert, so I have to make sure they are all in working order!

After a good time on the swings, I decided to run a lap around the park.  I like to run.  Momma runs in the mornings with her friend, Lori, and I told her I was going to run with her and Lori some day!  You'll have to turn your head to watch this video, but it is worth it!!

"I'm running!  Run!  Run!"

African Forest

Today we went to the new African Forest at the Houston Zoo.  We have been WAITING AND WAITING for this new part of the zoo to open.  The zoo has been working on it FOREVER and we knew that when they opened, the giraffes would have a new house, and they would bring CHIMPANZEES and RHINOCEROSES to the exhibit.  I was extremely excited to see the rhinos.

When we first got to the African Forest, I got to play the drums!!  You know how I love music, so I thought this was great!

Here are Momma and I at the Rhinos.  In the background you can see the rhinos and the greater kudu hanging out.

Aren't they amazing?  They had a really long trip in an airplane from Africa to come to our zoo!  What brave animals they are!

Here is one of the giraffes enjoying his new yard.  The big building in the background is his new house.

I sure had fun at the zoo today.  I can't wait to go again!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  We sure did.  I helped cook!  I helped with the cranberry relish AND Momma and I made some bread!  Making bread is really fun because we mixed it together with our bare hands!  It was ooey, gooey, gushy!  Then we kneaded the bread.  Momma said you have to be gentle with bread, like it is a baby.

It was really fun!
Then we had to wait and wait and wait and finally an amazing bread came out of the oven and boy was it delicious!  I was so proud!

We had so much food for dinner!  Daddy fried a turkey, and we had gravy, cornbread stuffing, sweet potatoes, green beans, and of course my delicious cranberries and bread!  Momma and Daddy and I toasted before our meal.  Cheers!

 Finger licking good!

I hope you had a special day, too!

Making pancakes

Momma makes pancakes pretty much every Saturday.  We love them!  This week she made PUMPKIN pancakes!  YUMMY!  I got to help.  We had such a great time!  We were listening to music and dancing while making pancakes!  What a great way to start the day!

I am using the pancake turner to flip the pancakes!

I am dancing with the spoon rest.  Momma made some baby pancakes for me to snack on while we waited for the other pancakes to all cook.

Momma makes sure my pancakes aren't too hot!  They came off a hot griddle!

Yummo!  Pumpkin pancakes are GREAT!

Finger-painting

Finger-painting is so much fun.  It truly lets me express myself in a different way.

"I'm doing a good job!"

"Look at me!"

We make a big mess, but finger-painting is SO GREAT!

My first haircut

Me getting a haircut has been a long-time struggle in our house.  I didn't want one.  Momma didn't want me to get one.  Daddy wanted me to have a haircut.  However, recently Momma and I noticed that my ends were not as healthy as they should be, so we decided that now was the time.  Momma got her hair cut last Saturday, and when she was done, her hairstylist (Carri) cut my hair too!  I felt like a beauty queen!

I got to wear a cape that had monsters getting their hair cut on it!

 We just did a trim.
I think I look beautiful, don't you?

My Boston friends

The first weekend of November, we took a trip to Boston to visit Uncle Brooke and Aunt Amy, and Hazel and Camille!  Usually we see them on the island in Maine over the summer, but we decided to make another trip and see them in Boston during the fall!  Oh boy, did we have fun!  Here are my favorite parts of the trip:
  1. Hazel and Camille.  Hazel is just a few months older than me, and Camille is about a year younger and we just played and played together!  It was so fun.
  2. Fall weather.  Boston is a city that actually has the season called Autumn.  Oh, boy.  It was COLD there, and the leaves on the trees were red and orange and yellow and purple!  It was wonderful!
  3. FOOD.  Uncle Brooke loves to cook.  Meat, especially.  (He is a meat expert!) Momma and Daddy love to cook.  Aunt Amy loves to cook.  Put all those people together and you end up with some great food!
Here are Hazel and I hanging out.  Hazel and Camille have these two pink stuffed doggies that I loved to play with.  I liked them so much that when I put them down, Camille would bring them to me because she knew I liked them!  She is the hostess with the mostest!

Remember I said it was cold?  Cold as in 40*F, which is really cold for us Houston-folk!  We went to the park and played in the cold!

Aunt Amy read us lots of stories.

One of the best things, though, was playing "Ring Around the Rosie" with Hazel and Camille!

Aunt Amy took lots more pictures, and once we get copies, we'll show you more!

Whoooo had fun on Halloween??

I sure did!  I was an OWL!!  Momma made me an incredible costume and I got to wear it to lots of parties!  I wore the mask around the house for days, but then I decided I didn't like it on my face and I'd rather wear it on my head!

I went to a party at the Zoo!  The zoo got decorated for Halloween and Daddy took off work to go with us!  Here I am on the carousel!

I am riding a red panda.  Daddy rode on a log with 2 owls!   Hoooo!

I also went to a party at my friend Merritt's house.  She has a pink car and I got to go for a drive!

 Just cruisin....

I also went to a party some other friend's were having, and Daddy and I got to practice our washers game skills.  You know how Daddy loves horseshoes, well, this was right up his alley!

I sure had fun being an owl for Halloween!!

Hooooo!  Hooooo!

Pumpkin Moonshine, part 3

You might be wondering about the pumpkin moonshine.  Well, after we came home from the pumpkin patch, I took a long nap, and then we carved our pumpkin moonshine!

Hmmm, what is in there?

It's squishy!!

You have to get all of the seeds out.

I found a seed!

And here are our masterpieces!  I asked Momma to give the big pumpkin a mean face and the little pumpkin a sad face.  I made funny faces too!!

After a day like this, I needed a good bath!  So I took one in Momma's tub!

Daddy did my hair.  What do you think?

SILLY!

I had such a fun day!!
