Christmas fun, part 4

Yes, we did actually celebrate Christmas and open presents on Christmas morning!  Here is what our tree looked like before we started:

Santa brought me a giant beanbag chair with my name on it!
And the book "I want a hippopotamus for Christmas"!!  I LOVE that book!
Momma and I sing that song all the time!

Yeah for my big pumpkin chair!

Lucy and Charlie both got Santa hedgehog toys.
They didn't last long!

Charlie and his hedgehog!

I helped everyone open their presents.  Here I am with Grandma.

And Papa!

And Poppy!

And G!

I gave everyone a calendar with pictures of me from last year.
It is very special!

Here I am helping Auntie!

Here I am helping Momma.
Momma tied a big green ribbon around her head!
She is silly!

One of the very best things about Christmas morning in our family is STICKY BUNS.
They are these amazing cinnamon-y caramel-y pecan-y delicious treats that we eat for breakfast!
YUM!  AND, I had a big mug of hot chocolate to go with it!
Here comes a sugar high!

Sticky buns and hot cocoa and family.
What is better than that?

Christmas fun, part 3

One thing my whole family likes to do is play games together. We did a lot of playing games over Christmastime. Pretty much, whenever there was free time, a couple of people would be gathered around a game of some sort. I have the feeling they all played games after I went to bed, too!

I played my new game, Shopping List, with Grandma and G!

Daddy and Papa played some sort of checkers.

G and Auntie played Cootie with me!

I love Cootie!

And I played my new game, Tangoes. It is a game of tanagrams and I love it.

The whole family came to watch because, as it turns out, I am really good at doing tanagrams!

Look, I made the fox!

Christmas fun, part 2

I got everyone to dance with me!  They might not have realized when they were coming that we would have a dance party, but I love dance parties so we have them all the time at my house.

First, I directed Grandma, Papa, and Poppy in "If You're Happy and You Know It".

If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands!
(you can barely see the microphone I am using to sing...)

If you're happy and you know it, shout hooray!
Hooray for fun times with grandparents!!

Then, the dance party started...
Momma put my favorite Christmas song on the stereo - "a Charlie Brown Christmas".
Whenever I hear this song, I just gotta dance!

So G and Auntie got up and danced around with me!

 Here we go!

 Auntie was getting down!

G was getting her groove on, too!

Then Daddy joined in!  He is so funny!  Is that dancing?
Charlie sure liked it!

Oh, how I love to dance!

Daddy and I did the tango!
We had so much fun!

So let this be your warning:
When you come to our house you might be in for a dance party!
Bring your dancing shoes!

Christmas fun, part 1

I am so lucky!  For Christmas, G and Poppy and Auntie and Grandma and Papa all came to visit me!  It was WONDERFUL.  We had so much fun together.  The next few posts will be glimpses for you into the amazing good times we had!

We made gingerbread men!  They are so fun!  We have lots of different cutters and sprinkles so decorating was great!  It was great girl-time with Auntie, G, Grandma, and Momma.  I am very in to girl-time right now!

Decorating can take lots of concentration and precision...

G had fun playing with Charlie!
He is a silly puppy!

I took everyone to the park and showed them all how I have mastered the climbing wall!

I like to pretend this steering wheel drives a boat.  Then Papa got in front of the boat and I kept running him over!  Silly Papa!
Daddy is practicing ballet moves on the balance beam!

I went down the big slide with G!

Auntie and Grandma rode on the see-saw!

One day we all went to have a tea party!
I snuck in some Auntie snuggles at the tea shop!
G, Momma, and me!!

I also took everyone to the zoo!  Here are Auntie and I playing the drums in the African Forest!

And I rode the carousel!  I love the carousel.
Auntie stood with me to help, and Papa rode an animal!

We waved as we went around!  Wheeee!

Stay tuned for more Christmas fun!

A little angel

Our church made a nativity scene for Christmas!  I got to be an angel!

 Having angel wings is SUPER!

Before we went into the church, I was very silly in my costume.

Even an angel has to make funny faces sometimes!

It was so fun being an angel, that after we were done I flew all the way down the hall to turn in my costume!

I sure loved it!

Christmas caroling!

We went Christmas caroling!  What a fantastic activity!  I LOVE Christmas songs and like to listen and sing to them at all times.  In fact, wherever we are, if I hear Christmas music, I want Momma to sing along too.  So if you live near us, you might hear us singing at Target, the grocery store, everywhere!  We like to be festive.  So what is better than knocking on your neighbors doors and serenading them with Christmas carols??  We went to a house in our neighborhood first for dinner and then a really large group of us caroled together.  We had song sheets and jingle bells and Santa hats!  I LOVED it!

 Singing with my jingle bells!

I didn't really need to read the song-sheet - I know lots of the words already!

Momma and I!  We had a such a great time!

I hope we can do this again next year!
