A beautiful day!

Friday was a beautiful day!  We have been having warm, humid weather here again.  Momma and I are not ready for that!  But Friday was a perfect spring day.  It was about 60 degrees, sunny, very low humidity, just perfect for some fun outside!

Friday was actually "Go Texan" day, and people all over (even at businesses and schools and everything) dress up like cowboys.  We don't have cowboy clothes so we did not participate in the dressing up part.  There is a big trail ride that started several days ago and ends today, and one group of trail riders always comes right by our neighborhood!  Momma and I went up to see if we could catch them as they came by, but they were running behind so we went to the park instead.  I was sad to not get to see all the horses, but hopefully I can see them another time.

Bumping up and down in my little red wagon,
bumping up and down in my little red wagon,
bumping up and down in my little red wagon,
 won't you be my darling?
(it's a song, in case you are wondering)

We had a picnic at the park!

 Mmmm, goldfish crackers!

 Messy hands!

Ok, time to play!

I'll swing in a big girl swing!

 And push the baby swing.

I love to walk on the wall.  It sure is easier than the balance beam at gymnastics class!

 Climbing up to the slide...
They are really big steps!

 I can do it!

 Ready to go...

 Wheee!

What fun!

The Pink Park

I have named the various parks we go to based on the color of the play equipment.  It is tricky for Momma and Daddy to know exactly what park I am talking about  most of the time, as there are a lot of parks that could be called "the blue park" or "the green park".  However, there is only one pink park!!  Momma and I came here last week and I had so much fun we brought Daddy the next day!

You can't really tell from the pictures why I call this the pink park, but lots of the play structure is pink.  If you look at the very top of the slide I am on, you can see bits of pink.  Regardless, I had a great time on the slide and went on it again and again!

 Whee!

 That was fun!

Who has time to find the stairs?  I'll climb up the slide!

Proud Momma

When Momma got to school to pick me up the other day, we were playing outside on the playground.  They have this great play structure and I was having a ball!  Momma watched as I started climbing this curved ladder that goes up to the fort... it starts off perpendicular to the ground and ends up parallel, so it has a big curve.  Anyway, as I was at the very top, I slipped!  I fell straight through the ladder and down to the ground!  I am very lucky because I didn't get my arms or legs caught on the bars or knock my head on anything!  I just fell straight through.  As you can imagine, it was very scary and I cried.  Momma jumped over the little wall around the playground and held me, and my friends came to see if I was ok.  I quickly realized that I was not hurt, just scared.  So I said to Momma, "I'm gonna do it again!".   And I climbed right up that crazy ladder and right onto the fort!  Ha!  Conquered that fear, didn't I?!!

Momma is so proud of me!

As I was saying...

Momma thinks I say funny things sometimes, so she thought I should share some with you!

On food:
Momma:  "Elyse, is your dinner good?"
Me:  "No."
Momma:  "Oh, that is too bad!"
Me:  "Momma, it's yummy AND yummo!"

However, during Christmastime, Momma made dinner and I wasn't so fond of it.  I said, "This is not yummo, Momma."
Momma would like it mentioned that everyone else DID like the dinner!

On health:
This month Momma hasn't been feeling well.  She started out with a cold and then got bronchitis!
So, when I lay down for a nap, I would tell her "Momma, you need to lay down in your bed.  Put your jammies on and take a nap so you can feel better."
I also said to her, "Momma doesn't feel so well.  I'll feel you better, Momma!" and then gave her big hugs and kisses.
When I woke up she came in to get me and I held her face in my hands and said "you feeling better, Momma?"
I try to take care of my Momma!

On listening:
Recently, I was talking to Daddy and he wasn't listening to me!
So I told him, "Daddy, I need to help your body!" and I helped him to focus.

On manners:
Today I have been saying "Yes, Ma'am" to Momma all day.
Momma doesn't know where it came from but thinks it is just fine!

A trip to the zoo

Momma and I went to the zoo on Monday.  I love the zoo.  Seriously, I LOVE the zoo.

Do you see this chimp?  He was so close!  What a funny guy!

I rode a doggy on the carousel.  I always WANT to ride the carousel, but sometimes when we get on, I get a bit apprehensive!  Then I get over it and want to ride again when it is over!

Pink flamingos!

We didn't get to see the giraffes outside.  They were in their house because their yard was muddy and slippery!  And we didn't see the baby elephants either.  It was a bummer because they are so cute!  But I still enjoyed seeing the lions and zebras and rhinos and other animals.  I just love seeing the animals at the zoo!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I was very excited about Valentine's Day this year.  We talked about it at school and Momma got some Valentine's books at the library, so I was ready!  Every time I see a heart I say it is a Valentine.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day!

More fun with Grandma and Papa

I had so much fun with Grandma and Papa!

Grandma has this cool bike in her bedroom!  It doesn't go anywhere, but it is fun to ride!

It was REALLY cold and windy, but that doesn't stop me from having fun at the park!

Papa is so silly!

 I rode in a dinosaur!

 Prepping for the slide...

Yippee!
I sure don't let this cold weather get me down!

When we got home, I played piano with Grandma.
I call it a "pinano".

I love the pinano!  Grandma and I made some music!

I sure had fun visiting my Grandma and Papa!

On the way home I made sure to wear my glasses and hoodie -
every star needs some quiet time...
*wink*

SNOW!

We went to Colorado to visit Grandma and Papa and play in the snow!  The funny thing is that when we left Houston, it was COLDER in Houston than it was in Colorado!  How often does that happen?  We had some crazy cold weather here for a few days.  Anyway, we drove up into the mountains and went SLEDDING!  Boy oh boy is that FUN!

I am all bundled up!  It was COLD!

I found it very hard to walk in the snow.  In fact, after a short time, I decided it was too much work for me and that Momma should carry me.  Teehee!!

Papa and Grandma have these yellow saucer sleds.  They are the best.  Momma and I went down the hill again and again!   Papa gave us a big push, and here we go!

Whee!!

Here I am going down the hill with Daddy!

After sledding, I collapsed in the snow and made a snow angel!
Momma tried to mark in the picture where my head and wings are...

I sure had fun in the snow!
